Rarely
does one forget hearing the Robin
Nolan Trio (RNT) for the first time. Whether their intoxicating
music is wafting from neighborhood coffeehouses and jazz clubs,
echoing from festival sound stages in any one of fifteen countries,
broadcast on national radio airwaves, featured in major motion-picture
film, or filling the streets of Amsterdam, their home base (where
they still setup for impromptu jams in Leidesplein Square), the
listener is instantly hooked and wants to know more. Surprisingly,
RNT has managed to achieve all of the above without having their
CDs sold in stores! Check out the first—Mediterranean
Blues—a collection of Latin-fused acoustic jazz culled
from their self-produced CDs, including a re-recorded tribute
they wrote for their friend, George Harrison (Beatles), and two
tracks that made it to the silver screen.
